My name is Wayne A. D'Angelo, and I am an experienced artisan specializing in the hand engraving of firearms and knives. Born in Springfield, MA, and now residing in Warren, MA, I am a dedicated husband and father to two daughters.
My journey into artistry began in childhood, where I demonstrated a natural talent for drawing and excelled in art classes. Throughout my career, I have held positions that catered to individuals and collectors of fine firearms, jewelry, knives, and scrimshaw.
My professional journey started at Smith & Wesson, where I underwent training to become a fitter (gun builder). I later transitioned to COLT firearms, working in the warranty-repair department. However, it was at Fountain Plating Co. where my passion for firearms engraving truly took root. There, I worked as a custom gunsmith, preparing guns for master engravers and gaining valuable insights into the art.
Subsequently, I joined Hannoush Jewelers, a prominent family-owned jewelry company, initially focusing on engraving. Under the mentorship of a Master Jeweler from Greece, I expanded my skills to include jewelry design ,repair and engraving.
Driven by a vision to become the master firearms engraver at Smith & Wesson, I returned to the company, initially as a fitter. Through perseverance and showcasing my work, I eventually secured the engraving position. Despite helping to bring back the Smith & Wesson custom engraving shop back to its former glory days, I decided to leave and venture out on my own.
Today I continue to provide custom engraving services for various MFG's and collectors just as I have been doing for the last 25 plus years.
Thank you for visiting my site, and I hope you enjoy browsing through my work!
